Fix the enduring impact of slavery.

Created by C.R. on September 08, 2014

The government ought to acknowledge the present affects of slavery on black communities across America.

Although 150 years have past since slavery was abolished, the lingering consequences of over 400 years of enslavement echo.

In 1865 slaves were freeded but without an economic foundation to inherent. Few families were able to rise out of this disadvantageous start to succeed but the majority were not. 5th/6th generation slave decendants struggle with poverty and welfare, creating a divergent culture and increased crime.

Slavery was an injustice.

I propose the following reparations for decendents of slaves.

1. Free childcare (2 yr - pre K)
2. Increased federal funding for public schools in black communities.
3. Free trade schools/junior college.
4. Federal holiday.
