Fix the 'Family Glitch' by changing the definition of affordable to include the cost of a family plan.

Created by R.J. on October 20, 2015

On behalf of the 2-4 million Americans who can not afford insurance due to the Affordable Care Act's (ACA) 'family glitch', I ask the government to consider a solution so that families do not have to live in constant fear of becoming ill.

The 'family glitch' is preventing the ACA from fulfilling the primary goal, provide affordable insurance to all Americans.

The law has determined that if an individual has access to self-only health insurance that is less than 9.56% of their annual income then they can not receive gov subsidies. The problem is that the law does not consider the significantly higher cost of family insurance.

This petition is asking the gov to include the cost of family insurance when calculating if a plan is affordable or not, and to provide subsidies to those in need.
