There is a glitch in the ACA, that requires that if a spouse is offered coverage under an employer health plan, the spouse is no longer eligible for health insurance subsidies. This is reguardless of the spouse's income or cost of coverage to income ratio. It is only defined by how much the employee is required to pay into the employers plan. If the amount the employee pays in is more than 9.5% of the employees income, only then can the spouse qualify for subsidized healthcare. Good employer health insurance means that my husband can no longer receive health insurance. Hence, we will be paying a $694 fine for not having health insurance, because we can't afford to pay for my spouses plan out of pocket. Reform the 'Family Glitch', for the good of our families.
