Current policies are simple: give healthcare to hospitals, then limit their ability to charge. This will not work in the long term. Consider:
1 - regulating medication prices. Too many Americans are unable to afford lifesaving medications in this country, and allowing a small group to destroy the lives of many by their search for profit is morally wrong.
2 - federalizing hospitals - profit making hospitals that own doctors will destroy proper treatment. Learn the reality.
3 - reducing the minimum age for Medicare to conception. It's the most efficient health insurance by a wide margin with a proven track record. Use what you know.
4 - and federalizing licensed health professionals. The wage disparity between primary and subspecialities is untenable. Good PCPs reduce health costs.
