FIX THE IMMIGRATION SYSTEM, STOP PRIORITIZING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, AND PROMOTE LEGAL IMMIGRATION

Created by B.A. on January 03, 2015

The immigration system is currently broken.

It harms people who decide to play by the rules, follow the law, and wait patiently in line. It damages families by splitting them apart with long waiting times in the immigration process.

Currently there are 4.4 million people waiting for green cards. These people have to wait many years, or even decades, depending on the family-relationship between the petitioner and the beneficiary, and its status (U.S. citizen or permanent resident).

By passing the Executive Action on immigration that the President recently signed, the President has placed those law-abiding people under those who have broken the law.

The administration should prioritize those who abide to the law and improve the legal immigration system by lessening waiting times.
