Fix the mental health system by funding it properly and making it more efficient and welcoming. Remove the stigma.

Created by D.G. on August 22, 2013

Mental Health is much more important than people recognize. It is related to the well being of not only the individual, but the family and the community on the whole. Without proper care or available services, millions of American Citizens and their loved ones are left untreated and in some extreme cases, even mistreated. By addressing Mental Health we can also prevent violent crime & abuse.

In many States, if you do not have health insurance, the Policy currently forces hospitals to disconnect patients from their families and send them to under-funded and over-crowded State Mental Facilities. There is no other option for the uninsured. Even if the Family can pay out-of-pocket, they are forced into an under-funded system with no other options. This archaic system must be fixed. Fund it.
