fix the minimum wage laws governing how servers, (i.e. waiters and waitresses) are paid.

Created by R.S. on January 10, 2014

Dear Congressmen and Women, I am a 33 year old single mother of a bright ten year old boy. He is an honor roll student, a member of his academic team, and he scores distinguished on his state testing. Since his birth I have been employed and have carried health and life insurance on both of us while making a mere $2.50 Per hour. Federal minimum wage has been raised several time in my lifetime but server minimum wage has not been raised once. In this poor economy I have seen a drastic drop in pay. I am saddened that we are the forgotten. I have tried and for the most part been successful at giving my son an ok life but now each day is a struggle. Please find a way to not forget about the servers. Because of the new laws in place my pay will no long be enough to cover my son's healthcare.
