Since it the responsibility of the elected government to pass a responsible, balanced budget, they should be the ones to bear the burden of failing in that responsibility. We hereby petition that all elected federal legislators and their staff, along with the President, his cabinet, and his "czars" should forfeit their salaries anytime the federal government spends more money than it brings in.
This what middle-class Americans have to do everyday. Balance the needs of their household against the amount of money coming in every pay period. The elected President, Senators and Congressmen should try living like everyday Americans do.
