Fix the nearly 70,000 structurally deficient bridges in America via private investment.

Created by V.R. on May 24, 2013

As President Obama said in his State of the Union Address, there are almost 70,000 structurally deficient bridges in America. After recent events that have transpired in Washington state, we cannot wait any longer. However, without substantial government support to repair or replace these bridges, the funding to fix our most structurally deficient bridges must come from elsewhere. Therefore, the government should open up the possibility of private companies to pay the costs to have bridges defined as "structurally deficient" to be fixed, and in exchange, they will be able to advertise to every driver who goes across that bridge with a sign acknowledging the advertiser's support. This will not only save lives, but also create construction jobs and grow the economy. It needs to be done.
