There are firms that hold patents to broad types of thing and they do NOTHING with them. Because of this, it is hard for other companies to innovate on things. If somebody has a patent, they should do something with it instead of letting it colect dust (and law suit money). I am not an expert in this field, but i think that something needs to be done.
