Fix the problem of the two-party system by changing our voting method from plurality voting to preference voting

Due to the nature of the plurality vote (in which each voter has a single vote to give to one candidate), voting is a game of calculated risk. Voters who prefer a third party candidate must make a choice: play it safe and vote for the major-party candidate who they could tolerate; or vote for the third party candidate they truly believe in, but risk allowing the worse major-party candidate to take office. Many people are afraid to vote third party for this reason, and as such our votes do not reflect the voice of the people. The preference voting system, in which candidates are ranked from most to least favorable, would allow people to vote for who they want without risking a great loss. This would be give third parties a chance at winning and would much more fair to the voting populace.
