The petition is to address the lax security situation in our schools. Often times its security with no teeth. We protect diamonds, wall street, money with more fervor. But lives are not protected. The future is not protected. Our children. They are not protected from these senseless acts.
The answer is not to remove guns. Criminals are criminals because they flaunt the violation of the law. The answer is to deter them. If they know there is armed security in a school it is far less likely to happen. Assigning a law enforcement officer or trained with firearms security on a school site as a potential response. Police are reactive by nature. There is no possibility of response in these circumstances like in Newtown. A proactive response is needed. This is a possible solution to consider.
