There are many great parents out there who will do anything for their children. Some of those parents are being required to pay child support based on a calculator that is broken and not up to the times. Non-custodial parents are being made to pay absurd amounts of money and it is financially devastating to them. The system is based off times when it was single moms who got custody. That is not how things are now a days. There is no economic benefit to paying child support when the custodial parent gets to reap all the rewards. The system punishes the non-custodial parent, when often times they are loving parents trying to do everything to make ends meet and support their child/children. The system is leaving non-custodial parents in financial ruin. Things need to change.
