Shirley Temple Black is most notably recognized as an actress and performer. However, she was also an ambassador to Ghana and the country of Czechoslovakia (Now separated into the Czech Republic and Republic of Slovakia). She was also Chief of Protocol for President Ford. Her contributions to the country and the world have, at present, gone unnoticed by the Obama Administration, who gave the honor of flying the flags at half staff to a singer who had not served in even one government position. We demand the Obama Administration give the honor due to Ambassador Shirley Temple Black as a precedent for any and all government personnel deserving of this simple but meaningful honor.
