focus on the dangers of fracking; increase spending on renewable energy, instead of expensive attempts to gain fuels.

Created by P.M. on October 05, 2014

Important fossil fuel resources are currently running out. In order to fix this problem, instead of increasing dependence on renewable resources, there has been an increase in dependence on a dangerous tactic called fracking. This method obtains more fossil fuels, but has harmful consequences. To do this a hole is drilled to a deposit of fossil fuel, a large mix of mostly water with a mix of chemicals are poured into the area, rock is broken down, and then the fuels are pumped out. Many of the chemicals that are mixed in are extremely hazardous. They will contaminate water to the point where it can't be filtered through normal means. Sometimes this water can also leak into ground water, which can quietly contaminate the water used in towns and cities.
