Focus on housing cost in relation to homeless personel

For years I have watched, not only in California but in other states as well, the amount of homeless personnel pouring on to the streets. How could we as Americans allow this to happen. The Issue is not the amount of jobs in the economy, but the cost of living. I my self a 7 year Veteran find it hard to survive. Not because of finding a job, but because the cost of living has risen to the point where only the rich may live comfortably.Though there are jobs out there they are all part time paying not even enough to make utility payments. Humane means to show compassion for those that suffer. How can we call ourselves humane if we care not of humanities living conditions. Funny 10 years ago a 4 bedroom house rents at 1500, now 3000. Ask ourselves, When did we as Americans get so Greedy?
