Focus on Housing Issues for Low Income/Homeless Families

I am a 19 year old from alabama.Over the last few years I have encountered families including my own that are low income single parents that have not received any housing assistance since the April 27,2011 tornado. housing issues have increased because the people who were effected by the storm received help before the people who actually needed the help before the storms. I understand their situations but the families that didnt have housing assistance tends to become homeless due to lack of help from government housing agencies.I am a daughter of a single parent along with my other sister, we have been from place place we even lived in an apartment area that was condemned by the govenment and even though we had to move, we still didnt get any housing assistance from the government.
