USEC is looking to obtain a $1 billion dollar loan guarantee from DOE in Southern Ohio to advance it's centrifuge technology. Usec has spent millions of dollars of it's own money, but needs to procure funds and backing to further the technology. It is a proven technology and the infastructure is already in place. Icing on the cake? Pike County where the facility is located has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. Mr. President do as you said you would and back the centrifuge facilty at the Piketon Uranium Facility.We need jobs at home and are investing $6 billion dollars to promote clean energy in Asia, and we only need $1 Billion Here? United we Stand , Divided we fall. I do not work for USEC or have any affiliation, but find this absurd.
