Focus on making schools safer for students rather than trying to regulate firearm ownership.

Protection of students themselves is being neglected in favor of gun control laws and, now, even mental illness awareness. This seems to be ignoring the most obvious problem, which is the need to make schools safer. Many schools have little or no protection for such an occurrence apart from lock downs. Students and parents need assurance that their children can get an education in safety without fear of intruders or gunmen.
