The Obama Administration needs to focus on restoring the Voting Rights Act to its original full strength. When people can vote, they are involved with our system. And when they cannot vote, they are less likely to be involved fully with the system. So they are less likely to get educated and get a full-time productive job, to be a full-time participant in the great American economy and life-style.
If President Obama is negotiating with the Congress, he ought to negotiate passage of a renewed Voting Rights Act.
