Focus On the Students, Not the Standards

Created by M.B. on April 07, 2014

We feel that our current education system is ineffective for our needs for education and learning. We would like to make high school more like the real world. We would also like to make school more tailored to those with different styles of learning. To do both of these things, we need to change the way we take tests. Students are asked to take multiple standardized tests every year. The standardized tests are based on the standards teachers are required to teach. We should be focusing on the students, not the standards. Our school boards are part of the reason why we take tests. We want parents of actual public school students and teachers, who have taught the standards, to make the decisions concerning our education.
