Follow a "Meatless Monday" diet for one month as a way to emphasize a healthy and environmentally responsible diet.

Created by R.Z. on December 11, 2012

We are asking the First Family to enjoy a "Meatless Monday" diet for one month (that's only 4 days!) as a means of highlighting healthy eating habits for children and to emphasize the government's commitment to an improved environment.
A Meatless Monday Month will bolster the First Lady's commitment to reducing obesity in our children by eating healthy meals that emphasize vegetables. Since meatless meals can be more environmentally friendly (especially if they highlight food picked in the White House vegetable garden), the Meatless Monday Month will also show that our President is thoughtful about environmental issues. Great recipes can be found at www.meatlessmonday.com.
