We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

Food Insecurity and Hunger

Created by J.W. on December 06, 2016

Food Insecurity can be defined as the state of not having reliable access to affordable, nutritious food.
People all over the United States are going hungry, people who are our neighbors, our friends, sometimes our family. However, most people who aren't food insecure, and many who are, lack awareness of how major of an issue this is. When ignorance reigns, it is nearly impossible to garner support for an issue. We need the government to raise the attention of the unaware, so that when confronted to donate to a food bank, they don't think they're necessarily donating to strangers far away, they may just be saving the life of a friend, or fellow American.
