Developers often build residential developments outside of La Jolla with the name La Jolla incorporated therein. The areas that these developments are developed have their own perfectly good names such as Golden Triangle, Carmel Valley or University City. This petition seeks to prohibit developers from misleading the public and the real estate market with erroneous references to areas outside of La Jolla as La Jolla. Furthermore this petition seeks to maintain the autonomy of the areas east of Interstate 5.
