Enact a federal law to limit all healthcare facilities and providers who accept Medicare/Medicaid from charging any patient/responsible parties more than three times the current Medicare reimbursement rate for any Medicare approved billable item or service incurred in the course of providing health care to mitigate the financial burden on the un- & under-insured.
Facilities and providers that do not accept Medicare/Medicaid will be unaffected by the price limits but such facilities must clearly indicate they are not participating. Procedures not covered by Medicare will be unaffected by the price limits but this must be disclosed to and approved by the patient/responsible party before such procedure can be provided
