A Constitutional Amendment to forbid government shutdowns would serve to remind lawmakers that their primary job is to work for America, not special interests or extremists of either party. By requiring them to find common ground, negotiate and compromise when needed, and find solutions to America's problems, they will have no choice but to carry out their responsibilities to the people. In the long run this can improve how America views its lawmakers and how the world views America. Imagine what we could do if we demanded that our lawmakers back this type of amendment.
