On January 20th, 2016, Illinois state representative Thomas Morrison introduced legislature (HB 4474) that would force trans students in publicly funded schools in Illinois to use the bathroom of their designated birth sex rather than their gender identity. This is a bigoted legislature—obviously motivated by a personal agenda—that puts trans students at risk of humiliation and harassment.
