With the recent statement from NBA commissioner Adam Silver proclaiming that paid advertisements on jerseys are "Inevitable", it is the collective feeling from NBA fans that this type of advertising should never happen.
Team jerseys are pieces of art that represent a City, a Community, and feelings of nostalgia that resonate deeply within fans. To have these pieces of art mired by advertisements is an insult to the fans by an already lucrative NBA. These jerseys are not only loved by Americans but are international symbols that help represent the U.S. in a positive way and to change the look of them to only make more money for the most successful basketball association in the world is a travesty.
