The American government is set to deliver 20 F-16 fighters and nearly 200 Abram tanks to Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood's control. These high-tech weapons given to a regime hostile to its own citizens, an unstable region and an undetermined alliance position with the United States is irresponsible.
The delivery was originally agreed to under the Mubarak government.
1. The Muslim Brotherhood Morsi regime is unknown regarding its stability.
2. There is no threat to Egypt's security by neighboring countries requiring such sophisticated weapons.
3. The Muslim Brotherhood is the parent organization for terrorist groups including Hezbollah and some Al-Qaeda groups.
4. Even President Obama cannot say Egypt is an ally and couldn't in the future use these on US or allied interests.
