The ladies and gentlemen of the US Congress have become wealthy over the years at the expense of average Americans, and there is nothing to show for it. Congress only gets worse as their pay increases. Ask yourself: if you work at McDonald's and keep screwing up the burgers, will you get a pay hike or terminated?
Congress should be forced to live on whatever the minimum wage is in their state, and like most workers, receive no benefits. They deserve less than $10/hr because that is their worth. It is absurd that Congresspeople live off taxpayer money and get lifetime benefits (especially as far as insurance is concerned) while the rest of us are stuck with very little.
If they don't like the low pay, maybe they should get a real job.
