Until the politicians are forced to actually USE the healthcare which they are voting on and trying to change, they will not understand how the changes affect the average citizen. All those in political office should be forced to choose one of the same health care packages that everyone else is on. This way when they strip benefits away, they are hurting themselves as well and can make a more educated decision.
Voting to change something which does not effect you at all is not very smart.
