Eric Holder as Attorney General is responsible for actions taken by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). This agency engaged in an operation known as "Fast and Furious". This scheme allowed straw gun buyers to purchase semiautomatic weapons and funnel them to Mexican drug cartels.
The ATF monitored the sale of over 2,000 firearms to these cartels. Such guns were used by a cartel in the murder of Border Agent Brian Terry and ICE (Customs) Agent Jamie Zapata as well as 100-200 innocent Mexican civilians. General Holder received at least 6 emails on the subject although he claims he never saw them.
No one has been assigned responsibility for this fiasco. As the person in charge of overseeing this agency General Holder should bear responsibility.
