A centuries old practice especially in the Yukon Territory, Northwest Territory and Nunavut; People have traditionally abandoned their elders on drifting sea ice when they reach a particular age or level of infirmity which causes them to become a burden on the community. This practice has been covertly endorsed by the Canadian Government & it must stop! Pleas to the Canadian Govt. from people within Canada opposed to this heinous practice have been ignored, they need help from the USA!
Compounding the problem, global warming has caused a significant reduction in the quality & quantity of ice available for this practice causing some villages to now place large groups of seniors on smaller ice floes. Shipping through the NW Passage is being affected as vessels must slow down to avoid them.
