This petition aims to put the spotlight on gun violence where it truly belongs. The spotlight belongs not at the feet of the NRA, but at the feet of firearms corporations, the people making and profiting off of the making of over-powered firearms. This petition hopes to shed the light on, and hopefully promote a full ban on military style firearms, such as the M16 used in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. This petition is not for a ban of all guns, just ones that should truly be considered WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction). This petition is not being put forth by any organization, or any corporation, or political party or advocacy group, it is being put forth by an individual who wants to get to the heart of the issue of gun violence. The heart of this issue is, always will be people.
