It is time for Congress to truly experience what middle-class federal employees experience throughout their entire career on the GS scale as nonbargaining unit (NBU) employees, and in the Excepted Service. Pay for the members of the US Senate and House of Representatives will now be based on the "GS" payscale, must work 40+ hours a week (O/T capped of course), earn Annual & Sick Leave as usual, have no entitlement to special vacations/recesses, be under FERS retirement provisions (those who don't meet retirement eligibility criteria since voted out? Sorry, no pension), only off weekends and federal holidays, and new congresspersons start at GS-09 and only get promoted to GS-13 (journeylevel)--IF they are "fully successful". Only the House/Senate Majority/Minority leaders can be GS-15.
