To spite the scientific evidence, including a US patent held by the federal government for the use of cannabinoids in medical treatment, the DEA has refused to reclassify cannabis as a schedule 2 or lower drug and regularly site cannabis' status as a schedule 1 drug as a reason to deny permits for medical trials.
It's time to tell the truth. Cocaine, a schedule 2 drug, is far more addictive and dangerous to society, with much less medical benefit. Reshedule cannabis, or relinquish the patent the US government holds on cannabinoids.
