Force the FBI and affected departments to allow cell phone encryption.

Created by S.E. on October 19, 2014

Recently Apple (creators of the iOS platform) and Google (creators of the Android platform) have updated their platforms to encrypt user's data by default. James Comey, director of the FBI, suggested asking Congress to pass a law forcing the companies (and any other technological company) to not encrypt users data, or to allow users to encrypt their data. Comey used a large amount of fear mongering about hypothetical "bad guys" to justify his position, that law enforcement, and the government at large, be able to get private data on any citizen, or any person on Earth, without so much as a warrant.

Please send an edict to the FBI and law enforcement that Americans have a right to privacy in their personal communications, and allow encryption of our cell phones.
