Marathon Oil started producing 1800 tons of petroleum coke a day, byproduct of 2012 expansion into processing of Tar Sands oil into heavy crude. They are immediately selling this to Koch Carbon (yes, KOCH Bros.) which is dumping the petroleum coke on land managed by Detroit Bulk Storage. The land is owned by Matty Maroun (Yes, of Ambassador Bridge Infamy) The dirtiest players in the carbon and blight landlord world are coming together alongside of the Detroit River, international port and waterway that connects the Great Lakes with the world.This dumping of toxic waste continues without any effective control of fugitive dust, runoff or leaching of heavy metals into air and water of millions, despite resolution from Detroit City Council to cease and desist. An International Incident!
