We feel that a way to possibly stop more mass shootings, and not limit a "responsible" persons right to own a gun would be to not only force a background check, but also make the purchase of a weapon contingent on the individual having a registered doctor give them a psych evaluation. It won't stop a major problem, but it could help prevent another mass shooting. You need to take a test to drive a car, so why not take one to own a weapon. If you have nothing to hide, then you shouldn't be worried and your rights will not be infringed upon. You still have the right to own a weapon, but if you are not mentally stable enough to purchase one then your are not. Whats more important...the safety of our citizens or the right to own a gun.
