The Nigeria -Biafra war broke out from 1967 to 1970 as a result of brutal killing of Biafrans that had occurred after independence. Nigeria is a multi-ethnic entity comprising of people with different cultures,religion and ideologies. The eastern region who are mainly Christians and The Northern Muslims. Biafra republic was declared in 1967 by General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu following the incessant killing of Ibos residing in the northern part of Nigeria. The war claimed over 3million lives. The same issues that lead to that war is still happening with no sign of end in sight. Once again the indigenous people of Biafra are agitating for self rule which is their rights but Nigerian government is not addressing issues at all instead they are being killed.
