force Nissan to issue a recall for the Electronic Steering Column Lock failures that are currently plaguing many models.

Nissan vehicles from at least 2009 to 2011 across multiple Nissan and Infiniti models are experiencing equipment failure with the "Electronic Steering Column Lock" component. Due to the keyless ignition in these vehicles, when the part fails the cars are incapable of being started. Nissan has issued a warranty extension for the part, but this requires the part to fail before the defective part will be replaced for free. This ultimate costs the consumer over $100 in most cases to have the car towed to a dealer. While this is not a huge safety concern because if someone gets stranded these days almost everyone has a cell phone, it is potentially incurring a large cost to the consumer for towing that could be prevented if there was a recall on the part.
