Force pharmaceutical manufacturers to set realistic prices on life saving medications to make them obtainable by all.

Created by D.C. on May 17, 2013

Pharmaceutical companies should be forced to set prices for life saving medications so they are more obtainable by those who need them, instead of making people who require the medications to be forced to make a choice between eating, or paying their utility bills, or taking their medications that are keeping them alive. Novartis and other big pharma charging $6000 for one single month of medically required life saving medication is absolutely insane. Pharmaceutical companies should not be allowed to have patents on medications longer than 1 or 2 years so generics can be easily obtained. The way it is now, these companies are forcing people to judge what their life is worth, pay $72,000 for a one year extension on their life, or die. Novartis was defeated in India, why not the US?
