Force the Red Cross to end its discrimination against homosexual blood donators

Created by T.U. on December 20, 2012

The American Red Cross will not take blood donations from homosexual men as part of a decades-old attempt to reduce the risk of HIV transmission via blood transfusions. Currently all donations are screened for HIV and other blood-borne pathogens before they are released for medical use. There is no scientifically-viable reason for them to continue this practice as there is no higher likelihood of transmission from homosexual blood than from heterosexual blood. This practice is therefore prejudicial and discriminatory and needs to end immediately.
