Tom Frieden should be forced to resign.
1) He has blamed a nurse for contracting ebola. The fact is, doctors stated she was wearing PPE. Any lack of training or missteps should NOT be placed on the shoulders of the workers who have not been adequately trained.
2) The CDC should have mandated rigorous training for frontline healthcare workers dealing with a disease of this nature. It is clearly highly contagious at end stage if just a single misstep occurs.
3) Applying PPE is much harder to control than say medication errors, particularly in a novel situation, with under trained staff, and long working hours. Therefore, the standards of PPE equipment used and the protocol should err on the side of caution, which the CDC is not enforcing.
