San Francisco currently enforces parking meters on major federal holidays including Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. This rule is contrary to the status quo in most other major cities and is also not well publicized. This petition seeks to change the parking rules of San Francisco to discontinue meter enforcement on federal holidays and to recognize using such an underhanded tactic to extort money from ordinary citizens on federal holidays is unfair, undemocratic, and downright un-American.
