Texas does not represent American values. Texas has disenfranchised 600,000 voters, and has violated the Voting Rights Act every districting cycle since 1970. Its disproportionately Republican government, which does not represent the American people, has also been responsible for the election of increasingly conservative presidents, such as Reagan and the Bush family, contributing to the polarity in congress and the mostly conservative supreme court which has practically destroyed campaign finance reform and all but castrated the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Due to the crucial role that Texas has played in the corruption of both congress and the supreme court, its blatant violations of civil rights, and its unaccountable government, it should be forced to secede from the United States.
