We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Force the Senate to meet in extraordinary session until they vote on Supreme Court Nominee Merrick Garland

Created by J.C. on August 07, 2016

The senate has refused to fulfill its obligation under Article II, Section 3 of the US Constitution to provide "advice and consent" on the appointment of Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court . This creates a dangerous precedent that the Senate may simply refuse to act on ANY nominee and leave the SCOTUS undermanned or even unmanned for their political objectives, in clear violation of the balance of powers embedded in the constitution and good governance. .

We call on President Obama to use his powers under Art II Sec 3 to call an extraordinary session of the Senate and force full attendance until they have fulfilled their obligation to provide "advice and consent" on the nomination of a new Supreme Court Justice.
