This position is to force to vote to repeal the carried-Interest tax exception.
In so much as Hedge fund managers commissions are payment for a service, money made is earned income. As Warren Buffett stated: If you believe in taxing people who earn income on their occupation, I think you should tax people on carried interest.
Second, the majority of non-entitlement spending is designed to police and regulate society. A strong stable society allows for a healthy market. The signers of the petition assert that the profits made in the US Market are dependent on a strong and trusted Federal structure. They should be expected to contribute equally to the Federal government.
The central argument against the petition is based on a sophism: that greed is an elastic vice.
