Force the State of Oregon to recognize the legal rights of Wiccans on probation.

Created by J.W. on December 06, 2012

Practitioners of Wicca use an athame, a large, double-edged knife, in their practice. It is a representation of the male aspect of divinity. The two edges represent the Goddess and God, and the point reminds us that all things come from a single Source. This tool is used to direct energy within the sacred circle, as well as in casting the circle and calling the elements. It is also dipped in the chalice during the ritual blessing of the communion elements.

The state of Oregon considers this sacred tool to be a weapon, and refuses to allow Wiccans the free practice of their faith, while permitting them to have kitchen knives and garden tools of similar or larger size, because "they serve a valid purpose." Help bring Oregon's government out of the dark ages.
