We the sane people of the United States of America recognize that some interests are not consistent with the Union and the well-being of the majority of its citizens, and therefore request that an alternative nation be allowed to form from the State of Texas, which shall become independent from the Union and stripped of all rights to interfere with the government of the United States of America, and all privileges and protections associated with Union membership.
